JOIN ISEA

There are two classes of membership in the ISEA.

Active membership is open to any person, firm, corporation, or operating division of a corporation, engaged in the manufacture equipment, devices, or components of equipment, designed primarily to protect people against injuries, disease or death from accidents or hazards. The association's primary focus over the years has been products to protect people from occupational hazards, but the word "occupational" is broadly interpreted. Safety equipment is used to protect people wherever they are exposed to hazards -- in factories, construction sites, health care facilities, emergency response, schools, offices and in the home.

Each active member company gets one vote in all matters before the association, and one vote in each product group of which it is a member. This vote is cast by a person designated by the company as its official representative. Companies also name an alternate voting representative, and primary and alternate representatives to product groups.

Product group participation is a major benefit of membership. Companies whose product falls under the scope of a product group must maintain membership in that product group, even if they do not actively participate. However, a safety equipment manufacturer may apply for membership regardless of whether its product fits into an ISEA product group.

ISEA dues for active members are based on sales. Each year, companies complete a confidential form, indicating their appropriate sales category during the most recent year. Members pay a separate fee for each product group, which covers staff, meetings, legal expenses and other costs directly related to the group.

New active members with sales over $5 million a year get a 25% discount off their first year dues. This discount does not apply to product group fees.  (Note:  This discount only applies to a company that has never been an ISEA member.)

ISEA dues and fees are billed annually; members have the option to pay semiannually.

Associate membership is open to any person, firm, corporation, or operating division of a corporation, actively engaged in the sale or services to active member companies.

Associate members appoint an official representative to the association, and may appoint an alternate representative, but they shall have no vote except in Committees or Councils on which they are authorized to serve.
