She has has been on both the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List throughout her time at Fayetteville and, is scheduled to graduate May 2017.

She is also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society and received the University College Academic Excellence Award in 2014. She hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Administration and work in the field of Human Resource Management. She is the daughter of Jacqueline Rorie, who is a manufacturing associate for ISEA member company Scott Safety in Monroe, N.C.

Scott Safety, a Tyco business, is a premier manufacturer of innovative respiratory and personal protective equipment and safety devices for firefighters, industrial workers, police squads, militaries, homeland security forces, and rescue teams around the world. Scott products protect thousands of individuals each day from environmental hazards including smoke, toxic fumes, combustible gases, falling objects, and contaminants.

In addition to her many academic achievements, Ms. Rorie volunteers with several organizations on campus and is also an active member in a variety of clubs, including Global Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

“As the first one in my family to go to college, I want to be a positive influence for my younger brother,” said Rorie. “Our mom instilled in us the importance of hard work, setting high goals and striving to achieve them. There is no greater achievement than to be the first one in my family to finish college.”

An independent consultant affiliated with George Washington University in Washington D.C., selected Ms. Rorie from among 18 applicants based on academic performance and other factors.

The Bailey scholarship provides $2,500 each year to a deserving full-time student who is entering his or her junior year or senior year at an accredited college or university in the United States. ISEA established the scholarship in 1998 following the death of a safety equipment industry leader who expressed strong interest in education throughout his lengthy career.
