ISEA was invited to present at The Fifth Saudi International Conference for Occupational Safety and Health hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The goal of the conference was to raise the level of awareness among employers and employees in the private sector about occupational safety and health and to strengthen the concept of a safe working environment for injury-free and appealing workplaces.

ISEA’s Senior Director of Technical Programs & Development Diana Jones lead a workshop on Making the most of your investment in PPE. Jones provided an overview of current ISEA standards and how they can be incorporated into a company’s occupational health & safety plan, and she addressed best practices associated with PPE from procuring quality products and what to look for in labeling requirements to proper care, use, and disposal.

Attendees of the workshop were OSH professionals who were especially interested in learning more about ISEA’s member companies, PPE standards, and efforts on a potential heat stress PPE standard.

“Members of this congregation were alive with spirit and passion for worker safety,” said Jones. “Representing ISEA and the US safety equipment industry, I connected with many safety professionals eager to learn about our practices and standards for protecting workers.”

Going forward, ISEA will continue to promote the use of our standards as a bedrock for safety, highlight our member companies, and keep them informed of new ISEA initiatives.
