Impact of Right to Repair Legislation on PPE & Safety Equipment
74 legislative bills across the country say various parts of safety equipment can be repaired by any repair shop. Similar legislation is being considered by the Federal Congress.
At its core, this legislation – and movement – says consumers can repair their own products instead of going back to the original manufacturer for service.
The Right to Repair movement has major practical and liability implications for manufacturers surrounding language delivery, form of communication, comprehensibility, length of obligation, and responsibility for the consequences of improper repair.
The industry is ready to get ahead of this. ISEA wants to make certain it does not creep into PPE.
Jim Seifert and Nate Snyder of Fafinski, Mark & Johnson will join ISEA to discuss Right to Repair in detail. In this interview-style webinar, we’ll get to the bottom of issues such as liability, federal and state legislation, insurance, compliance, and the future of Right to Repair.
