ISEA Hires Safety Industry Expert, Electrical Engineer to Lead & Grow Standards Development Efforts

ISEA continues to strengthen its leadership team with the addition of Diana Jones as Senior Director of Technical Programs and Development. An electrical engineer, Jones has more than 20 years of leadership and technical experience in the electrical, fire, and life safety industry.

Jones comes to ISEA after five years with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), where she led the vision, strategy, and roadmap for NFPA’s electrical, industrial, and chemical safety codes and standards, promoting the use of NFPA’s safety standards to businesses, organizations, and governments domestically and internationally. Prior to her work at NFPA, Jones held management positions at Encore Fire Protection, Tyco | SimplexGrinnel, and Kiddie Fire Systems, where she interpreted electrical, fire, and life safety codes and standards requirements.

“We are excited to have Diana join ISEA to help drive our standards program forward,” said ISEA Chairman Tom Votel, president and CEO of Ergodyne. “With her years of management experience in relationship building within the safety sector and integral knowledge about the standards development process, she is a great fit to lead our efforts in developing and promoting consensus performance standards for safety equipment.”

In her role at ISEA, Jones will support ISEA product groups and provide direction and oversight for all ISEA-administered voluntary standards. Working with industry and association leaders, she will steward and grow the industry’s standards program, identifying opportunities for expansion and establishing relationships with new stakeholders.

“I’m thrilled to be on the ISEA team,” said Jones. “Safety assurance has been a life-long passion of mine, and I’m lucky to have turned that passion into a career. I believe in ISEA’s mission whole-heartedly, and I look forward to growing the association’s programs all while helping to protect the workers of the world.”
