Consensus balloting is expected to begin in Oct 2024.
ISEA, an ANSI-accredited standards development organization, is seeking consensus body reviewers for the Reaffirmation of the following standards:
ANSI/ISEA 101-2014 (R2019), Limited-Use and Disposable Coveralls – Size and Labeling Requirements
Industry stakeholders developed ANSI/ISEA 101 to establish minimum size requirements, as well as garment and package labeling requirements, for limited-use and disposable coveralls. This standard includes a sizing chart to assist the wearer in the selection of the correct garment size, and test protocols to validate size selection.
ANSI/ISEA 201-2019, Insulation and Wash Durability Classification of Apparel Used in Cold Work Environments
Industry stakeholders developed ANSI/ISEA 201 to establish classification requirements for occupational apparel items worn in cold environments. The apparel items specified in this standard are insulated so as to reduce heat loss from the body to a cold environment.
Specific criteria are included for thermal insulation (in units of clo) and thermal transport properties. The resistance to the deterioration of these properties due to laundering may be optionally assessed and classified accordingly. The standard also includes garment care and labeling requirements and provides guidance on the selection of the apparel items based on given environments and activity levels.
Specific apparel covered by this standard includes insulated or shell jackets, parkas, vests, coveralls, pants and insulated flame-resistant occupational wear, as well as combinations thereof.
Consensus Panel members may fall into one of four categories:
Producer – A manufacturer of the product covered by the standard or components thereof
User – An organization that uses, specifies or purchases the product covered by the standard
Government – An agency or department that has a regulatory or other interest in the product
General Interest – An organization that has a special interest in this standard due to safety, technical or other requirements or an individual expert with knowledge in the area(s) covered by the standard, but who neither produces nor uses products covered by the standard
Consensus balloting is expected to begin in October 2024.
