ISEA, an ANSI-accredited standard developing organization, is seeking consensus body reviewers for two standards initiatives:
ISEA 101, Limited-Use and Disposable Coveralls – Size and Labeling Requirements: ISEA intends to reaffirm the existing 2014 edition, which establishes minimum size requirements, as well as garment and package labeling requirements, for limited-use and disposable coveralls. This standard includes a sizing chart to assist the wearer in the selection of the correct garment size, and test protocols to validate size selection.
ISEA 107, High-Visibility Safety Apparel and Accessories: This standard, with global recognition and incorporated by reference in U.S. federal highway regulations, defines the material performance criteria, design requirements, class and type designations (based on material amounts and intended application, respectively) and labeling for high-visibility safety apparel for occupational use. Performance requirements are also provided for the color, physical properties, and minimum areas of background materials used in the construction of HVSA and accessories. Test methods are provided in the standard to ensure that a minimum level of visibility is maintained when garments are subjected to ongoing care procedures.
Consensus panel members may fall into one of four categories:
- Producer – A manufacturer of the product covered by the standard or components thereof
- User – An organization that uses, specifies or purchases the product covered by the standard
- Government – An agency or department that has a regulatory or other interest in the product
- General Interest – An organization that has a special interest in this standard due to safety, technical or other requirements or an individual expert with knowledge in the area(s) covered by the standard, but who neither produces nor uses products covered by the standard.
