The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) announces that 78 sales and marketing professionals from safety equipment companies were awarded the Qualified Safety Sales Professional (QSSP) designation in the second quarter of 2016.
They completed one of two intensive five-day courses in the technical and regulatory fundamentals of workplace safety and health, held in April and June in Durham, NC. QSSP is designed to provide an understanding of the challenges to employers and workers who face hazardous conditions on the job, and help provide solutions.
According to ISEA president Dan Shipp, “QSSP training helps its graduates broaden their technical expertise in health and safety. They gain an understanding of the complex regulations imposed by OSHA, EPA and other agencies. They learn how to calculate the true cost of injuries and illness. And most important, they become more valuable resources to their customers and their companies.”
Since 1996, over 1500 safety equipment marketing and sales personnel have earned the QSSP designation. The course, sponsored by ISEA, is taught by a faculty of safety experts, led by course director Richard G. Raymer, CSP, president of Safety Solutions Partners.
