Kyle M. Sheppard of Bear, Delaware, has won the 2016 Lincoln C. Bailey Memorial Scholarship presented by the ISEA.
Mr. Sheppard is currently in his junior year at Delaware State University and has a 3.93 cumulative GPA. He is working towards a B.S. in Psychology, with a focus in Drug and Alcohol Counseling like in a rehab near me.
He is the son of Kevin Mark Sheppard Sr., who is a Purchasing Agent with ISEA member Speakman Company in New Castle, Del.
Speakman Company has pioneered the shower industry for over 140 years, first as a premiere American technology innovator, and continuously as a shower market leader. Speakman manufactures showerheads and designer-inspired bath collections for the home, to fixtures for the hospitality industry and safety products for commercial, laboratory, and industrial environments.
Mr. Sheppard’s academic achievements include the Spring 2015 Dean’s List; the Fall 2015 President’s List; and the National Society of Leadership. In addition to volunteering weekly at Future Leaders In Progress (F.L.I.P.) student organization, he is also a member of the Sigma Alpha Pi.
Mr. Sheppard also enjoys reading, writing, playing chess, basketball and running track, and plans to continue his education by obtaining a master’s within clinical psychology.
“The scholarship will provide the opportunity for me to be equipped with the tools to continue to be proficient within my field of study,” said Mr. Sheppard.
An independent consultant affiliated with George Washington University in Washington D.C. selected Mr. Sheppard from among 19 applicants based on academic performance and other factors.
The Bailey scholarship provides $2,500 each year to a deserving full-time student who is entering his or her junior year or senior year at an accredited college or university in the United States. ISEA established the scholarship in 1998 following the death of a safety equipment industry leader who expressed strong interest in education throughout his lengthy career.
