As we close the chapter on a transformative four years guided by our 2020–2024 strategic plan, I’m excited to share what’s next for ISEA. At the 2024 ISEA Annual meeting, we revealed a new four-year strategic plan, built on the strong foundation of its predecessor, to outline an ambitious roadmap to elevate our industry’s impact, innovate, and lead boldly.
Developed under the guidance of our former Vice Chair, Kelly Kolb (Kimberly-Clark Professional), and in collaboration with our Board, members, and staff, the 2025–2028 strategic plan reaffirms our unwavering commitment to worker safety.
As Kelly said during the Annual Meeting, “For ISEA, winning means taking bold steps to lead, to innovate, and to deliver extraordinary value for our members, our partners, and the workers who rely on PPE to go home safe at the end of a shift.”
Our strategy is centered around two critical priorities:
- Increasing ISEA’s relevance with government stakeholders, end users, industry partners, and the entire PPE and safety equipment supply chain.
- Delivering an outstanding member experience while ensuring exceptional value for every ISEA member.
These priorities will drive our focus across four key areas:
Standards:
We will expand the relevance and adoption of ISEA standards by regulatory bodies and end-users, grow our portfolio of standards, and bring forth even greater end-user insights and cutting-edge research to refine the standards development process.
Advocacy Excellence:
ISEA will continue to be the authoritative voice of our industry, advocating for common sense policies and regulations to protect workers and advance the ability of our industry to protect workers around the world.
Insights & Education:
Our QSSP program will evolve, with new hybrid training formats and an expanded Essentials curriculum. We’ll also engage members in shaping the future of ISEA’s Market Data Program, ensuring it provides actionable and unique insights.
Member Experience:
Behind the scenes, we’ll refine our operations and systems to deliver a seamless, impactful experience for members, from onboarding to ongoing engagement.
Looking Ahead to 2025
To kick off this new chapter, here are some key initiatives we’re launching next year:
- Restructuring Product Group operations for streamlined standards development.
- Strengthening our advocacy efforts with the addition of a dedicated Advocacy Manager.
- Innovating QSSP training with hybrid formats and bite-sized Essentials modules.
- Enhancing the Market Data Program based on member feedback.
A Call to Action
The success of this plan depends on each of us. I challenge every member to actively engage—attend committee meetings, volunteer for leadership roles, and advocate for your company’s interests. As Kelly Kolb noted, “We’re at our strongest when all our members engage, not just a few.”
Together, we can ensure that ISEA leads, innovates, and delivers extraordinary value for years to come.
Here’s to the future!
