Bailey-Shipp Safety Scholarship

Are You Interested in a Career in Safety and Health?

The Bailey-Shipp Safety Scholarship honors the legacy and vision of two champions of safety by supporting the next generation of leaders in the occupational safety and health industry. Awarded annually through the ISEA Foundation, this $8,000 scholarship recognizes outstanding students who are pursuing careers that advance innovation, protection, and safety for workers across the country.

An independent panel—completely unaffiliated with ISEA staff or any member companies—selects the scholarship recipient.

  • Application deadline: November 15, 2025
  • Notification of award: By December 31, 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • Be pursuing a degree that prepares them for a career in the safety industry. Relevant fields of study may include, but are not limited to:
    • Occupational Safety and Health
    • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
    • Industrial Hygiene
    • Safety Engineering
    • Product Design and Engineering (with a safety focus)
    • Ergonomics and Human Factors
    • Supply Chain or Manufacturing Systems (with PPE or safety applications)
    • Construction or Industrial Management (with a safety emphasis)


Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Strong academic performance, verified by a current transcript
  • Leadership potential and engagement in extracurricular, volunteer, or professional activities related to safety, health, or STEM fields
  • A commitment to improving workplace safety through innovation, advocacy, or design


Required Resources
 

  • Transcript of grades and proof of enrollment
  • List of extracurricular activities 
  • 2 letters of recommendation

 Lincoln C. Bailey Memorial Scholarship

Is your parent an ISEA member?

The Lincoln C. Bailey Memorial Scholarship was established in 1989 to honor the memory of Mr. Bailey, an industry leader who expressed strong interest in education throughout his lengthy career.  
 
This $5,000 scholarship recognizes and assists children or dependents of ISEA members. It is awarded each year to a deserving sophomore or junior in an accredited US college or university.
