High-Visibility Safety Apparel
ANSI/ISEA 107-2026
ANSI/ISEA 107-2026, the American National Standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel, establishes performance requirements for high-visibility safety apparel used to improve worker conspicuity in roadway, non-roadway, and public safety environments. The standard defines garment types and performance classes and sets requirements for background material, retroreflective material, garment design, marking, testing, and care.
What’s new?
- Clearer sizing rules explain when reduced background-material requirements can be used for smaller Type R garments, up to size M.
- Updated design and testing guidance covers split-trim, segmented, non-continuous, and heat-applied retroreflective materials.
- Stronger documentation requirements call for a Declaration of Conformity for each style or model offered for sale, available upon request.
- Updated test methods address colorfastness, dimensional change, tear resistance, laundering, and retroreflective performance, with a new optional test for overall nighttime visibility.
The result: clearer design, testing, sizing, and documentation requirements to support consistent high-visibility apparel performance across a range of work environments.
