Protection You Can Trust

Not all PPE is created equal. When performance matters, take 60 seconds to verify before you trust it.

UP TO 30%

Some PPE tested did not perform as promised.

Placeholder pending final ISEA testing and methodology. The statistic gets attention. The real goal is better buying behavior: pause, verify, then trust.

PPE works—when it performs as claimed.

You should not be afraid to buy PPE. You should be confident that what you buy conforms to the right standard, comes from a traceable source, and has credible documentation behind it.

1

Assume

“It looks right, so it must protect.”

2

Verify

Spend 60 seconds checking the claim, source, and documentation.

3

Trust

Make the purchase with greater confidence.

Verify before you trust it.

You do not need to become a standards expert. Use a few fast checks before approving unfamiliar PPE, a new seller, or a price that seems too good to be true.

01
Check the standard and year

Look for the specific standard designation and revision year.

02
Ask for a Declaration or Certificate of Conformance

Claims should be backed by documentation.

03
Confirm credible testing

Look for an appropriately accredited third-party laboratory.

04
Verify who made it

Confirm the manufacturer—not just the online seller—is traceable.

05
Sanity-check the price

An extreme price gap can be a warning sign.

Claims that should make you pause.

One red flag does not automatically mean a product is unsafe. It does mean you should ask for more proof before you buy.

!

“ANSI Certified”

ANSI does not certify products.

!

“OSHA Approved”

OSHA generally does not approve individual PPE products.

!

No standard year

A standard number without a revision year may be incomplete.

!

Vague lab references

“Tested” is not the same as credible, verifiable testing.

!

Unknown manufacturer

The seller should be able to identify who made the product.

!

Price far below market

A bargain can become expensive if performance, durability, or compliance suffers.

Three common myths about PPE conformity.

Myth: If “ANSI” appears on the listing, the product is certified.

Reality: ANSI accredits standards-development processes. It does not certify individual PPE products.

Myth: A label or marketing claim is enough proof.

Reality: Conformance should be supported by credible testing, traceable documentation, and claims that match the standard’s scope.

Myth: The lowest unit price is always the lowest-cost choice.

Reality: Shorter lifespan, higher replacement frequency, worker non-use, and performance failures can increase total cost and risk.
